About Us " From as far back as I can remember I always wanted to make films. I've always loved movies and admired the workmanship that goes into them. If you sat and watched a film with me it would drive you nuts. I'm constantly picking up the remote and rewinding back to see a clever edit or to hear the way music has been used to effect. When I left school I studied film and media, and it was at this stage that my interest really flared and I knew I wanted to get into filmmaking one way or another. It started for me with wedding films about 8 years ago. It's important to point out the use of the words 'wedding film' at this point as films are very much what I produce, in every sense of the word. I'd looked at the work of various wedding videographers and had found myself rather uninspired by them. My true inspiration came from watching films by the likes of Martin Scorcese, the way in which he uses music and stylistic storytelling techniques and masterful editing. I saw no reason why wedding films should be any different: there's a big story to tell, two people's lives to document, many dramatic poignant moments to chronicle and one epic, dramatic day to be recounted, relived and enjoyed again and again. For each couple, the film they take a starring role in, the film of their wedding day, is the biggest, most important and most treasured film of their lives. It should be epic cinema in every way Since the beginning, it's always been about the product - the film. It's always been about pushing myself and my films as far as I can. I've constantly invested in more equipment and software and experimented with new techniques to make my films better and better. This is what drives me on. I love what I do because I keep it fresh and exciting. In constantly developing in this way I regularly exceed my clients' expectations. This in turn drives me on even further as happy clients give me great feedback and praise." Wesley Snape, founder of Special Day DVDs |
